What are the costs
Typically, FORTIFIED™ Evaluators charge a small fee for their service. These fees vary by the evaluator; most individuals seek several bids before selecting the professional they will work with. Although you might pay a small fee for the evaluation, the SAH grant program is not a reimbursement program. Therefore, you will not be required to pay for the work on your home up-front for the mitigation work.Choosing a contractor
After your home has passed inspection, you will choose three contractors from a list of SAH qualified and trained contractors. These contractors will provide bids for the specific work needed on your home. Once you have selected your three bids, you will receive your grant award letter. You will need the award letter from the SAH program before any contractor or inspector can begin work.
